Who are we ?
Chemist and librarian, we took early retirement which allows us to live 6 months a year in Costa Rica, a country we fell in love with following a trip in 2000.
Coffee growers by chance
In 2012, we bought a plot of 5 ha planted with coffee, thinking of building a small weekend house there but leaving the person who was in charge of it previously to grow the coffee. This person having had to leave the region, we found ourselves with more than 4 ha of coffee and no one to take care of it.
We decided, with the help of the agronomist from the local cooperative and two agricultural workers hired at short notice, to resume this crop. Three years later we bought (used) the micro-factory allowing us to produce our own coffee.
Organic transition and diversification
Since 2020, we have been both in the "organic" transition and in the diversification phase with the planting - within the coffee trees - of cocoa, pepper and vanilla trees.
Our Values :
Traceability
We make all the decisions at the cultivation and processing level. We are present and active during all major operations: harvesting, pulping, washing, drying, sorting, export-import, roasting and marketing.
So we really ensure 100% traceability!
Quality
Our concern at each stage, illustrated by two examples:
Respect for people and the environnement
The salary conditions of our employees are far superior to those of similar companies in the country
We have been in transition to organic farming since March 2020 and, as our farm is located in a forest protection area, we are particularly attentive to our impact on the surrounding nature.
Well-being and pleasure
Costa Rica gives us the opportunity to make our coffee in an exceptional natural environment, surrounded by friends and supported by dedicated workers. We hope that this well-being will be noticed in our coffee to offer its consumers a moment of pleasure, relaxation and a gustatory journey that will transport them to an atmosphere of abundant tropical nature.

- Each day of harvest, it is inspected in full to ensure that only perfectly ripe cherries are part of the first quality, which is the only one to be exported. Any batch of coffee whose content after drying is not in the range between 10 and 12% humidity is excluded from export quality.
